Prince Albert police deployed a conductive energy device on Wednesday after a 42-year-old man tried to assault an officer while resisting arrest.

Officers on routine patrol found the man out in the community on the 2800 block of Sixth Avenue East just after 4 p.m. He was under a court ordered-curfew that he must remain at home following serious drugs and weapons charges.

He’s charged with resisting arrest and breach of release conditions in relation to this incident.

Break and enter

Police also arrested a 39-year-old man on Wednesday for a break and enter.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Riverside Drive at 3:30 p.m. and located the man inside of a shed in the area.

Fire

Police say a fire on the back deck of a home on the 600 block of River Street East is not being considered suspicious.

An officer was en route to a nearby call when they spotted the fire. Police requested assistance from the Prince Albert Fire Department, who arrived quickly to contain the blaze.
