Man injured in bear attack near Weirdale

A bear attack near Weirdale sent a 39-year-old man to hospital with “serious injuries.”

Parkland Ambulance paramedics responded to the attack, about five kilometres east of Weirdale, at 7:37 p.m. Monday. They cared for the victim, who sustained serious injuries, and sent him to Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert for further treatment. He was later transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

According to a Parkland Ambulance press release, the man is now in good and stable condition.

Weirdale is located about 45 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert.
