A single vehicle rollover east of Nipawin has claimed the lives of two people, and sent four more to hospital.

EMS declared a 41-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Cumberland House, dead at the scene. Their families have been notified. Four other occupants in the vehicle were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The incident occurred on Hwy 123, roughly 24 km north of the junction with Hwy 55. RCMP officers were called to the scene at around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hwy 123 was closed while emergency crews attended the scene, but has since reopened. Carrot River RCMP and a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
