A cab driver was robbed at knifepoint and carjacked on the territory of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

La Ronge RCMP responded to a 911 call at 1 a.m. Sunday. They learned that a customer showed a cab driver a “large knife” and demanded that he hand over all of his cash.

Police say the suspect then fled the scene in the cab. He made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police found the cab, abandoned, a short time later. The suspect remains at large, RCMP confirmed. He is considered dangerous. The suspect is described as a 20-to-30-year-old First Nations man. Police continue to investigate.
