HIW Wildside coming to Prince Albert next Saturday

Those who prefer their wrestling to be high-flying are in for a treat next Saturday night.

High Impact Wrestling Wildside will be hosting War in the Parkland on July 28 at Parkland Hall, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the card starting at 7:30 p.m.

“If you enjoy cruiserweight wrestling with a touch of hardcore added to it, this is the brand for you,” Wildside Wrestling general manager Jay Janzen said. “It’s a little bit wilder and a little more daring than what fans are used to seeing.”

The Wildside brand is based out of Saskatoon and is a sister promotion to High Impact Wrestling Canada, which has been around for two decades in Regina and runs shows in southern Saskatchewan.

“It’s similar to the split you see between Smackdown and Raw for those that watch the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) on television,” Janzen said. “We’ve wanted to branch out the Wildside brand into other comminutes, and Prince Albert made a ton of sense for us as they have great wrestling fans.

“We’ve been bringing in some of the top names from the Alberta scene, such as Ryan Van Danielson and Michael Richard Blaze, who was featured on WWE television recently, so we’re exciting to have them in Prince Albert next weekend.”

Also scheduled to compete on the card are Central Canadian Heavyweight Champion El Aseino and Michael Allen Richard Clark, who recently battled New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor star Cody Rhodes at a card in Saskatoon in May.

Tickets for the card, including VIP packages, can be purchased in advance at Sylken Confectionary or online at hiwcanada.com.

Fans can also purchase tickets at Parkland Hall on the day of the card.
