Health officials report 52 new cases, 55 recoveries, no deaths in Thursday update

Provincial health officials reported 52 new cases, 55 recoveries and no deaths in Thursday’s COVID-19 update.

The percentage of residents ages 12 and older who have received their first vaccine dose remains unchanged at 69 per cent. More than 334,000 Saskatchewan residents are fully vaccinated, including 24,196 in North Central.

All Saskatchewan residents who received their first dose became eligible for their second dose on Thursday, provided they follow a 28-day interval.

North Central reported seven new cases on Thursday, all of which were in Prince Albert. There are now 38 active cases in the area. North Central Zone 1 has 17 active cases. Zone 3 has four.

The Far North West reported one new case. That was the only new case reported in the entire Far North.

There are now 35 active cases in the Far North West, 14 in the Far North East, and one in Far North Central.

The North East Zone reported no new cases or recoveries. There are now 15 active cases in the region.

As of Thursday, Saskatchewan has 605 active cases. That’s the lowest total since Oct. 24, 2020, when there were 574.

The Regina Zone has the highest number of active cases with 149, followed by the Saskatoon Zone with 139, and the North West Zone with 64.

Far North Central has the lowest active case total with one, followed by the South West Zone with five and the Far North East with 14.

Saskatchewan has reported an average of 55 new cases per day over the past seven days.
