Mintos top Trojans 2-1, prepare for Thursday night tilt against Saskatoon
After fending off the team that trails them in the standings, the Prince Albert Mintos are preparing to face the squad sitting directly ahead of them.
A power play goal by Austin Lamotte was the difference as the fifth-place Mintos defeated the fourth-place Tisdale Trojans 2-1 at the Tisdale Recplex on Tuesday night.
Mintos manager Don Fauchoux called the win a “total team effort.”
“We had all four lines going very heard, we killed off every penalty … we just kept rolling the lines and we had a lot of energy (Tuesday) night at both ends of the ice,” he said.
“Any time you go to Tisdale it’s a highly-intense game because of the big rivalry. It was a great back-and-forth game with solid goaltending on both parts.”
