Waskesiu Children’s Festival and Parks Day organizers are anticipating good weather and strong crowds as they finish last minute preparations for this year’s event.

The annual educational and cultural extravaganza is schedule for July 15, and the festival committee is eagerly anticipating at great turnout.

“We’ve been getting very good visitation (numbers) so far this year, and I think it’s partly due to the weather and the beach and the lakes that attract people,” festival spokesperson Colleen Gerwing said. “The weather is supposed to hold, so I’m expecting a really good turnout.”

In total, Gerwing anticipates several hundred people to make the trek to Waskesiu on Saturday. She said they’ve worked hard to make sure families have a wide variety of experiences.
