There was a death related to COVID-19 reported in North Central on Saturday. The person was in the 30 to 39 age group and was among three total deaths reported in the province.
The other two deaths were reported in the Far North East zone and were in the 60 to 69 age group and the 80 plus age group.
The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the province is currently 417.
There were 200 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province on Saturday.
The North Central zone, which includes Prince Albert, reported 14 new cases.
One case with pending residence information was assigned to the North Central zone.
North Central 2, which is Prince Albert, has 26 active cases.
North Central 1, which includes communities such as Christopher Lake, Candle Lake and Meath Park, has 40 active cases and North Central 3 has five active cases.
There are currently 135 people in hospital overall in the province. Of the 108 reported as receiving in patient care there are six in North Central. Of the 27 people reported as being in intensive care there are none in North Central.
The current seven-day average 134, or 11.0 cases per 100,000 population.
Of the 31,459 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 1,434 are considered active.
The recovered number now sits at 29,608 after 108 more recoveries were reported.
The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 31,459 of those 7,843 cases are from the North area (3,193 North West, 3,413 North Central and 1,237 North East).
There were 8,766 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 133,828. This is the highest one day total of vaccines administered thus far.
There were 24 doses administered in the North Central reported. Doses were also administered in the adjacent North East, North West, Far North West, Far North Central, Far North East, Central West, Central East, South East, South West, South Central, Regina and Saskatoon.
Regina far outpaced the other regions with 2,860 vaccines administered. Of the doses administered March 19, 2,019 were delivered at the Regina drive thru clinic location.
Residents 67 years and older are encouraged to book their COVID-19 vaccination online or by phone. There are currently over 500 vaccination appointment slots available between March 20 and March 24.
As of March 19, 89,338 appointments have been booked using the new appointment systems: 65,791 online and 23,547 by telephone.
There were 3,581 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on March 16.
As of today there have been 627,752 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.
No new confirmed variant cases reported Saturday
There were no confirmed variants of concern (VOC) cases reported on Saturday.
There are currently 156 confirmed variants of concern cases in Saskatchewan with 149 B1.1.1.7 (UK) and seven B1.351 (SA).
The Regina zone accounts for 141, or 90 per cent, of the confirmed VOC cases reported in Saskatchewan.
In addition to the confirmed cases, there are currently 590 presumptive VOC cases reported in the Far North East, Saskatoon, Central East, Regina, South Central and South East zones. Regina is reporting 504 presumptive VOC cases.
