The St. Mary Marauders girls’ soccer program will have a chance to win a provincial medal at home Saturday.

The team will compete in the SHSAA 3A provincial championship bronze medal game at noon as they’ll take on the Regina O’Neill Titans at Prime Minister’s Park.

After kicking off the tournament with a dramatic 4-3 win on penalty kicks against the Regina Campbell Tartans, the Marauders dropped a 3-2 decision in the semifinal Friday against the Saskatoon Centennial Chargers.

It will be an all Saskatoon gold medal game at 2 p.m., as the St. Joseph Guardians cruised to a 6-1 triumph over the Titans in the other semifinal.

The host Carlton Crusaders saw their season end Friday as they fell 3-0 to the Titans in the quarter-final round and fell 4-1 to the Swift Current Ardens in the consolation semifinal.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders boys’ team will play for a bronze medal at the 3A tournament in Saskatoon Saturday morning, as they’ll take on the Swift Current Colts.

The Crusaders topped the Tartans 4-1 in the quarter-final before being shutout 4-0 by the Chargers.

The Chargers will take on the Warman Wolverines in the gold medal match.
