Emily Cole-Johnson and Shelaine Pritchard will be making their way to Sydney, Nova Scotia next month.

The Prince Albert Athletics teammates will be representing their province at the 2019 National Legion Track and Field Championships, which will run from Aug. 9-11 at Cape Breton University.

The pair, who will also compete for Saskatchewan at a tri-province meet in Regina this weekend, had excellent performance at the provincial high school track and field championships in Moose Jaw last month.

Cole-Johnson, who is a member of the Carlton Crusaders team, earned a gold medal in the junior girls 100m dash and was second in the 200m dash.

Pritchard made an excellent first impression at the provincial championships for the St. Mary Marauders as she captured the midget girls aggregate title.

She won gold medals in the 100m dash and long jump, a silver medal in the 80m hurdles and a bronze medal in the high jump.
