The Christopher Lake Heritage Hotel and Bar was destroyed in a morning fire on March 5, 2019.

According to a Facebook post from the Lakeland and District Fire department, crews responded to a structure fire in Christopher lake at 8:23 a.m.

Seven pieces of equipment, along with two tankers from Buckland Fire Rescue and 21 members, responded.

When firefighters arrived, they found the building engulfed, with fire venting through the roof. Working against high winds, crews worked to bring the fire under control.

Unfortunately, due to the high winds and size of the building, firefighters were unable to save the structure.

The Lakeland and District Fire Department thanked its partners, including Buckland Fire Rescue, RCMP, SaskPower, SaskEnergy and others who assisted in fighting the fire.
