Robbery suspects last seen driving a black Volkswagen Golf were arrested south of Invermay, Sask. The RCMP had put out a media release Monday asking for the public’s assistance locating the suspects.

They are wanted in connection with three robberies committed over three hours on Monday, March 4.

At about 3:15 p.m. Monday, a business on Sixth Avenue in Prince Albert was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects. The Prince Albert Police Service notified surrounding RCMP detachments of the incident, and of the suspect vehicle.

About two hours later, around 5:15 p.m. in Jansen, Sask., Humboldt RCMP officers were called to a business on Main Street. Two men with their faces covered and weapons in hand had exited the same vehicle connected to the Prince Albert robbery and approached the business. However, the owner and staff saw the men approaching and locked the doors. The men tried to force their way in but were not successful. They fled the scene.

Then, at 6:05 p.m., it is believed that the same men entered a store in Spalding wielding a knife and a sawed-off rifle. A customer was assaulted as he tried to disarm the suspects. Other employees and customers were in the store at the time. The suspects headed north out of town. They were believed to have been accompanied by two women, who were driving the vehicle.

The vehicle itself was stolen out of Saskatoon. The RCMP thanked the public for its assistance.

On Wednesday, March 6, the RCMP announced four people had been charged in connection with the incident.
