Baker and Jenkins finish in top 10 at SHSAA provincials

It was a solid weekend for Carlton Crusaders teammates T.J. Baker and Cole Jenkins as they finished in fifth and eighth place respectively at the 2019 provincial high school golf championships at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club in Estevan.

Baker entered Saturday in a tie for third after shooting a round of 74 on Friday, but shot an 85 on Saturday on a day where low scores were tough to come by due to poor weather conditions.

Jenkins had a round of 82 on Friday and followed that up with a score of 83 Saturday.

The North Central region was also represented by Dylan Wicks of Birch Hills and Carlton’s Kaleb Willoughby, who finished in 29th and 44th place respectively.

Meanwhile, St. Mary’s Ava Degagne finished in 15th place overall after two days in the female event with a score of 225.

Hunter Tremblay led a trio of golfers from W.P. Sandin High School in Shellbrook with a ninth place result.

McKenna Kyliuk and Marissa Skavlebo finished in 16th and 24th place.

Estevan’s Chase Gedak won the male title on his home course, while the female title was won by Creighton’s Lauren Fox for the second straight year.
