Winter Festival exhibition reception to be held Friday, Curator walk Saturday

The first highly anticipated Winter Festival-related event is almost here.

Friday marks the official launch of the 41st annual Winter Festival Art Show and Sale at the Mann Art Gallery.

This year’s exhibition features 225 works by 119 artists heralding from across the province, but “mostly artists from the Prince Albert region,” said Mann Art Gallery director/curator Jesse Campbell.

“Every year it’s a surprise, we never know what the show will entail. It’s unpredictable, but there’s always a happy outcome in seeing such a great variety of work.”

The first unveiling to the public will take place at the opening reception, scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Participating artists get in free.

The juror’s talk and walkthrough with Zachari Logan is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. Attendees will be able to have an in-depth talk and discussion about Logan’s curatorial approach and observations about the artwork in this year’s exhibition. That event is free.
