For the second time in less than a week, a man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Highway 2.
Monday morning at about 8:20 p.m. Prince Albert RCMP were called to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Highway 2 North near Christopher Lake. The pedestrian was struck by a northbound vehicle, and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was not physically injured.
RCMP will not be releasing the identity of the 55-year-old male victim, a Black Lake resident.
An RCMP collision reconstruction investigator attended the scene. Traffic was reduced in the area for a period of time and reopened in the evening.
RCMP continue to investigate.
On Friday a 58-year-old from Montreal Lake was struck and killed in what police are describing as a hit-and-run just four km north of Prince Albert. Police are also still investigating that incident.
