15-year-old girl victim of homicide on Big River First Nation, RCMP say

A Prince Albert woman has been charged with second-degree murder following an assault on Big River First Nation.

RCMP say they received a report of a serious assault at about 8:45 p.m. on Monday.

EMS declared a 15-year-old girl dead. Her family has been notified, according to police.

RCMP have charged 22-year-old Maryanna Sakebow with one count of second-degree murder. She made her first court appearance on Wednesday.
