There were two deaths related to COVID-19 reported on Tuesday in Saskatchewan.
One death in the Regina zone was in the 30 to 39 age group and the other was in the 80 plus age group in the Far North West zone.
The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the province is currently 407.
There were 156 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province on Tuesday.
The North Central zone, which includes Prince Albert, reported no new cases.
Two cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central and the adjacent North East zones.
North Central 2, which is Prince Albert, has 38 active cases.
North Central 1, which includes communities such as Christopher Lake, Candle Lake and Meath Park, has 38 active cases and North Central 3 has nine active cases.
There are currently 138 people in hospital overall in the province. Of the 107 reported as receiving in patient care there are six in North Central. Of the 31 people reported as being in intensive care there are none in North Central.
The current seven-day average 138, or 11.3 cases per 100,000 population.
Of the 30,883 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 1,292 are considered active. This is the lowest active case count since Nov. 9.
The recovered number now sits at 29,182 after 161 more recoveries were reported.
The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 30,883 of those 7,744 cases are from the North area (3,160 North West, 3,375 North Central and1,209 North East).
There were 4,245 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 108,669.
There were 177 doses administered in the North Central reported, the most of any zone in the province. Doses were also administered in the Far North West, Far North East, North West, Central East, South West, South Central, South East, Saskatoon and Regina.
Regina far outpaced the other regions with 2,055 vaccines administered.
As of March 15, 50 per cent of Saskatchewan residents age 80 plus have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
This compares with 37 per cent on March 9, before the online and telephone booking systems were launched.
There were 2,461 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on March 15.
As of today there have been 615,067 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.
Regina continues to lead in variants of concern confirmed
As of today there are 66 new confirmed variants of concern (VOC) cases being reported in the Saskatoon , Central East, Regina , South Central and South East zones.
Regina leads the way with 61 cases confirmed.
The provincial total is now 136 confirmed with 130 B1.1.1.7 (UK) and six B1.351 (SA).
The Regina zone accounts for 122, or 90 per cent, of the confirmed VOC cases reported in Saskatchewan.
In addition to the confirmed cases, there are currently 210 presumptive VOC cases reported in the Far North East , Saskatoon , Central East , Regina (186), South Central and South East zones. Regina leads the way again with 186 presumptive.
COVID-19 Vaccine Bookings for 70+ Province-wide, 50+ in Far North
The Saskatchewan Health Authority Patient Booking System is currently making COVID-19 vaccine appointments for individuals 70 years of age and older in all parts of the province and residents 50 years of age and older in the Northern Administrative District.
Residents 50-69 years of age in the Northern Administrative District can only book their appointments by phone at this time. To book call 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829) between 8a.m. and 11p.m.
