The cost

Holly Spratt

No one seems to hear me today
I laughed, I cried, you went away
Why did you leave me as quick as you should?
My hair turned white as fast as it could
My body is tired
My mind got old
Grew smarter over the years
But somehow got cold.
The cancer took her, left him
Lost forever in darkness and pain
But now looking down from heaven
A burden of lost stories.
Last breathe, any gain?

So what does it mean to love someone?
Remember so it will not be lost
Slowly flatlined, left at all costs
Love someone, open your mind
Open your heart
Release your inner strength
Smile and love
Remember the stories that were given to you
Do not lose yourself to darkness
Always and forever
No matter what the cost
