The fire department responded to a “suspicious” West Flat shed fire on Thursday.

Firefighters arrived at the scene – the 1300 block of 17 Street West – at around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. They found that a small wooden shed had “completely burned to the ground.” It had also melted vinyl siding on an adjacent house.

They managed to extinguish the fire and cool the home. The firefighters checked for any signs that the fire had spread, according to a press release.

The department said they continue to investigate the fire, which is considered “suspicious.”
