Abby and Alli Soyko will be sticking together for the next step in their hockey careers.

The 18-year-old Prince Albert products will be moving up to U Sports for the 2020-21 campaign as they will be joining the Lethbridge Pronghorns in Canada West.

“Abby and Alli come with great experience playing on good midget teams in Prince Albert,” Pronghorns head coach Doug Paisley said in a statement.

“Both are hardworking, gritty players with high hockey IQ and both will have an immediate positive impact on our lineup next season. We are looking forward to them joining the Pronghorn family come next September.”

Following lengthy stints with the Prince Albert Northern Bears, the sisters moved up to the Canadian Sport School Hockey League this season as they joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme program.

Abby leads the team in scoring with 14 points in 15 games, while Alli is fourth in scoring with eight points in 14 games.

Abby posted 152 points in 183 regular season and playoff games from 2014 to 2019 and also represented Saskatchewan at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

Alli had 43 points in 109 regular season and playoff games from 2015 to 2019 for the Bears and was named the team’s most sportsmanlike player last season.

The sisters were also part of the Bears squad that won the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League title in 2017 and went on to the Esso Cup in Morden, Man.

The Pronghorns are currently in seventh place in the Canada West standings with a 7-10-3 record.
