RCMP have arrested five suspects after reports of a firearm discharge in the community of Montreal Lake.

The Montreal Lake Band Office, Senator Allen Bird Memorial School and a local daycare were all temporarily locked down during the incident, however those orders have since been lifted.

The incident occurred at around 9 a.m. on Thursday. Officers from RCMP traffic services and four other detachments, including Prince Albert, responded to the incident. The suspects had already fled from the scene by the time they arrived, however their vehicle was located a short time later.

All five people were arrested without incident. RCMP also seized one firearm. All those involved are known to each other.

No injuries were reported.

According to an RCMP media release, the investigation is still ongoing.
