Raiders AGM to be held on Oct. 7

While social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 protocols will be followed to a tee, not much else is going to be different for the Prince Albert Raiders’ annual general meeting.

The Western Hockey League announced on their website late last week that their AGM will again be held at the Ches Leach Lounge on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.

“We haven’t really needed to expand from the 30-people maximum limit that’s currently in place for our AGM’s over the last five years,” Raiders business manager Michael Scissons said on Monday afternoon. “At this point, we’re expecting the number of attendees to be the same as it has been recently.

“We will be making calls to members who have attended in the last couple of years to see if they will be attending or not. If we find that there is going to be a larger representation of members at the meeting this year, then we will look into some steps to potentially keeping some of those members at home and have them join via a Zoom call or something like that.”

Anyone who has questions about the AGM or are interested in attending can contact Scissons via phone at 306-765-2824.

In other news, the team also announced on Monday that their 50th anniversary game puck packages have sold out after they went on sale two weeks ago.

“The entire organization was overwhelmed by the popularity of the promotion,” Scissons said. “We’re happy that it sold out (of the 100 packages) in the amount of time that it did.”
