Quarter-finals set at Men’s Lobstick

After a frantic Wednesday that saw play suspended due to weather, the Fountain Tire Men’s Lobstick tournament got back on track Thursday as the quarter-final matchups in the championship flight were determined.

Michael Smith of Saskatoon, who was the low qualifier for the event, will go up against Colin Coben of Delisle, while Senior Men’s Lobstick co-champion Martin Ring of Prince Albert is set to face Trevor Bloom of Kelowna, B.C.

On the other side of the bracket, Regina’s Jason Galon will take on Saskatoon’s Shaun Dunphy and Prince Albert’s Ashley Ziegeman will matchup with Clavet’s Landon Emberley.

Defending champion Tyler Zaba of Regina made it to the second round but lost to Dunphy.

Prince Albert’s Cliff Selander, who shared the Senior Men’s Lobstick title with Ring and Roger Gilhespy of Chilliwack, B.C. last Thursday, lost to Zaba in the opening round of the championship flight.

The tournament runs through Saturday.
