Provincial health officials reported 106 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, along with 135 recoveries and one new death.

A patient in the 80-plus age category died in the North West Zone after testing positive for the virus. The province did not release any other details about the case.

Healthcare workers administered 18,014 more vaccine doses, including 1,323 in North Central, 277 in the Far North West, 409 in the Far North East, 483 in the North East, and 31 in Far North Central. There were 372 doses recorded without a zone of residence.

Roughly 68 per cent of Saskatchewan adults have received their first dose. Nearly 192,000 residents are fully vaccinated, including 13,880 in North Central.

There were 17 new cases reported in North Central on Saturday, along with nine more recoveries. There are now 90 active cases in the area.

Prince Albert reported five new cases. North Central Zone 1 reported 11 and Zone 3 reported one.

There are now 40 active cases in Prince Albert, 42 in Zone 1, and eight in Zone 3.

The Far North West reported three new cases and eight more recoveries. There are now 37 active cases in the region.

The Far North East reported one new case and four more recoveries. Another four patients who tested positive outside the province were also added to the Far North East total. There are now 43 active cases in the region.

Far North Central continues to have no active cases.

The North East, which includes Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale, reported two new cases and seven more recoveries. There are now 28 active cases in the region.

There are 96 patients in hospital with COVID-19, including 17 in intensive care. Four of those ICU patients are in North Central.

As of Saturday, there are 874 active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon Zone has the highest number with 212, followed by the Regina Zone with 127, and the North West with 126.

Far North Central has the lowest total with none, followed by the South West with 15 and Central West with 18.
