Prince Albert drive thru clinic open again Friday

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has scheduled drive thru and walk in clinics throughout the province starting Saturday, May 1 and the Prince Albert drive thru clinic will be open again starting April 30.

The clinic is located at the Thorpe Industries Warehouse, 1 Pine Street, east of the Provincial Forest Fire Control Center- North of Prince Albert on Highway 2. Direction signs are posted.

It will be open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 30, May 1 and May 2.

There will be no public washrooms on site.

Patients travelling to this location are encouraged to access the site via Central Avenue across the river. Signage will be in place on April 30 to support traffic flow.

Clinics are available to anyone 40 years of age and older, or anyone with valid eligibility letters or other proof of employment required for prioritized frontline workers. Additional locations will be added and promoted on Monday, May 3.

Clinic availability is based on vaccine availability and demand for appointments outweighs the current supply. When age eligibility opens to a younger group appointments fill up fast, particularly in urban centres like Regina and Saskatoon. There may be additional clinic options in rural and northern communities, and residents are encouraged to consider those alternate locations for immunization.

Please note that travel restrictions related to the increase of variants of concern do not apply to essential medical appointments, such as immunization. Residents may travel to a community outside of their own to attend an immunization clinic, but are advised to not make any other stops or visits aside from the immunization clinic.

The type of vaccine offered at your clinic may vary depending on vaccine supply. All vaccines are safe, effective and approved for use in Canada, and are extremely effective at preventing serious illness and hospitalization.

In early April over 2,000 people took advantage of the drive-thru COVID-19 immunization according to figures from the SHA.
