On Thursday evening the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division notified the public that a case of COVID-19 had been identified in an individual at Carlton Comprehensive Public High School in Prince Albert.
“The division is hoping the recovery is quick and thorough and we extend our get-well wishes to this member of our school community and offer our support to the surrounding family,” the release stated.
The division was informed Thursday evening of the positive COVID-19 test result and is communicating with the affected cohorts, staff and greater school community..
The SHA will continue to assess the case as they provide contact tracing and communication to all close contacts.
“The students and staff impacted by this case are required to isolate until the end of the day on Nov. 17 and the learning program will continue remotely for those students affected. Privacy concerns prevent sharing of further details of the case.”
Carlton Comprehensive High School will remain open for in-person classes for all students that are not required to isolate.
As is the case in all cases in the division due to privacy concerns, further details of the case will not be shared.
The division explained that although there has been no evidence that transmission has occurred within any Sask. Rivers schools we all share responsibility to minimize the risk of COVID transmission.
“The division deeply appreciates the support that students, parents and community members have demonstrated, especially as the number of cases in our region climbs.”
