Updated: woman charged in Prince Albert’s second homicide of the year

Update*: A 36-year-old woman was charged with second degree murder in the city’s second homicide of the year.

She made her first court appearance Friday.

The investigation continues, though no further suspects are being sought

The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating its second homicide of the year.

On Feb. 20 at 6:39 p.m., the police received a weapons call from a residence in the 1200 Block of 17th Street West.

Officers and paramedics attended to a residence and found a 50-year-old man in critical condition. He was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead. An arrest was made at the residence. The investigation continues.

An autopsy was scheduled for Feb. 21. The Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Identification Sections are working with the Office of the Chief Coroner to investigate the incident.
