Police Service Dog Daxa was hard at work Tuesday morning, successfully tracking suspects in a break and enter and a TV theft.

Her busy shift started on Monday, just before midnight, after police were dispatched to 13 Street West for a theft in progress. Witnesses told officers that two men had allegedly stolen a television from a van and took of down the street on foot.

Daxa followed their trail, locating one on 13 Street West and a second on Providence Place. Both suspects, a 14-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, were arrested and charged with theft.

Hours later, just after 4 a.m. Tuesday, officers called Daxa in to help solve another case: a break and enter on 28 Street West. Police had responded to an apartment building and found damaged windows. Daxa picked up a track and followed a suspect to the garage of a house under construction on 7 Avenue West.

A 31-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with committing mischief by willfully damaging property, attempt to break-and-enter and two breaches of court orders.
