Prince Albert police arrested a suspect with “several” firearms warrants on Thursday morning.

Just before 9:30 a.m., a patrol officer noticed a man known to police from previous encounters. He was in an SUV on the 200 block of 16th Street West, near Iceberg Pure Water.

Police confirmed the suspect had outstanding warrants and attempted a traffic stop.

However, the SUV took off and officers did not follow for the safety of the public.

Additional officers went to the area the vehicle was last seen, on the 300 block of 20th Street West, where the man surrendered himself.

The 25-year-old from Prince Albert is charged with failing to stop for police and was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Friday.
