There was one death related to COVID-19 reported in the province on Sunday. The person was in the 80 plus age group and located in the Regina zone.
The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the province is currently 418.
There were 178 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province on Sunday.
The North Central zone, which includes Prince Albert, reported 15 new cases.
One case with pending residence information was assigned to the North Central zone.
North Central 2, which is Prince Albert, has 31 active cases.
North Central 1, which includes communities such as Christopher Lake, Candle Lake and Meath Park, has 38 active cases and North Central 3 has five active cases.
There are currently 139 people in hospital overall in the province. Of the 110 reported as receiving in patient care there are five in North Central. Of the 29 people reported as being in intensive care there are none in North Central.
The current seven-day average 146, or 11.9 cases per 100,000 population.
Of the 31,637 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 1,447 are considered active.
The recovered number now sits at 29,772 after 164 more recoveries were reported.
The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 31,637 of those 7,873 cases are from the North area (3,201 North West, 3,428 North Central and 1,244 North East).
There were 5,990 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 139,827.
There were no doses administered in the North Central reported. Doses were also administered in the adjacent North East, North West, Far North East, Central East, South East, South Central, Saskatoon and Regina. Regina outpaced the province with 3,118 vaccines delivered. Of the doses administered March 20, 1,879 were delivered at the Regina drive thru clinic.
Regina far outpaced the other regions with 2,860 vaccines administered. Of the doses administered on March 19, 2,019 were delivered at the Regina drive thru clinic location.
Residents 67 years and older are encouraged to book their COVID-19 vaccination online or by phone.
According to the province due to a damaged thermal shipper, Saskatchewan will receive 5,850 fewer doses of the Pfizer vaccine than originally expected this week. The remaining 30,420 doses in this shipment are still expected in the coming days. The Ministry of Health and the Saskatchewan Health Authority are reviewing distribution plans to minimize any impact.
As of March 19, 89,338 appointments have been booked using the new appointment systems: 65,791 online and 23,547 by telephone.
There were 2,709 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on March 16.
As of today there have been 630,461 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.
No new confirmed variant cases reported Sunday
There were no confirmed variants of concern (VOC) cases reported on Sunday.
There are currently 156 confirmed variants of concern cases in Saskatchewan with 149 B1.1.1.7 (UK) and seven B1.351 (SA).
The Regina zone accounts for 141, or 90 per cent, of the confirmed VOC cases reported in Saskatchewan.
In addition to the confirmed cases, there are currently 625 presumptive VOC cases reported in the Far North East, Saskatoon, Central East, Regina, South Central and South East zones. Regina is reporting 527 presumptive VOC cases.
