Man charged with five firearms charges

On Saturday, the Prince Albert Police Service was dispatched to a firearms call in the 300 block of 13 Street East.

The suspect of the complaint was located on 12 Street on foot and was arrested by officers.

A backpack was seized from the suspect, which contained a sawed-off rifle.

The 27-year-old from Prince Albert was charged with five firearms-related charges.

He was to make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday.

The Prince Albert Police Service received 317 calls for service over the weekend, with officers making 46 arrests.

There were 64 calls involving intoxication and 45 calls regarding disturbances.
