A man charged in a break-and-enter and double auto theft was granted bail on Monday.
Montana Lane is facing break-and-enter and theft charges for the incident, which occurred in the East Flat last Thursday. Police responded that evening, and met a man who said someone had broken into his garage and stolen both vehicles.
Police arrested Lane a short time later, after finding the complainant’s documents on his person.
Lane appeared in court by video Monday morning for a bail hearing. None of the evidence presented can be reported, due to a publication ban.
Judge Hugh Harradence agreed to grant Lane non-cash bail, imposing conditions for him to reside at a specific address under curfew and to stay away from the man he allegedly stole from.
