Inpatient unit closed at Rosthern Hospital after COVID-19 outbreak

Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The inpatient unit at Rosthern Hospital is closed for admissions and transfers following a COVID-19 outbreak at the facility.

As of Saturday, 10 patient cases and two staff cases were connected to the outbreak. The SHA says contact tracing and additional testing is already underway.

“It is important to note that COVID-19 is everywhere in Saskatchewan,” reads an SHA media release. “SHA is strongly urging Saskatchewan residents to adhere to all public health orders and measures.”

Hospital visitors are now restricted to “end-of-life” situations only, which includes palliative and hospice care for those who are at high risk of loss of life.

Emergency department and outpatient services will remain available.
