Spark Theatre announces two new dates for ‘Vagina Monologues’

Spark Theatre artistic director Roxanne Dicke said she’s never had to extend the run of one of her Prince Albert productions until now.

Dicke said Spark’s upcoming production of The Vagina Monologues has garnered more interest than initially anticipated and in order to accommodate theatregoers two additional dates have been added to the show’s run: Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. The play is being staged in the Mann Art Gallery’s main space, which seats 90.

Dicke said she was hoping the production would be a strong draw.

“It’s a play that typically does sell out where it performs,” Dicke said.

“It’s a very popular piece and it’s quite a well-known piece. Even for those who don’t know the piece the title itself and the content is intriguing and I think that it just has started to get shared enough on social media and there’s enough word out now that people are curious.”
