High school football camps get underway Monday

A new season of high school football will kickoff Monday in Prince Albert as the Carlton Crusaders and St. Mary Marauders will open their training camp for the 2019 campaign.

Both teams will get things started on Monday, Aug. 26, with the Marauders having a pair of practices at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary School.

The Crusaders’ first practice session will be held at 3:50 p.m. at Prime Ministers Park.

The two teams will then square off in a pre-season scrimmage at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 at Max Clunie Field.

The Crusaders will open up their season at home on Thursday, Sept. 5 as they’ll host the St. Joseph Guardians at 6:30 p.m.

The Marauders will also begin their campaign at Max Clunie Field on Friday, Sept. 6 with a 6:30 p.m. meeting with the Aden Bowman Bears.

Their regular season schedules will conclude in Prince Albert on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. with the 8th edition of the Canadian Tire Classic.
