An inmate who escaped from Willow Cree Healing Lodge has been apprehended.

Staff found out 33-year-old Louis Bonneau had disappeared on Sunday, but Prince Albert and Rosthern RCMP located and arrested him at about 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

When both detachments arrived on scene at a farmyard near Macdowell, a number of residents had contained the area.

Bonneau surrendered and RCMP took him into custody without incident.

He was then taken to hospital for prolonged exposure.

“He is expected to make a full recovery,” said an RCMP news release.

Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is conducting an investigation of the circumstances.
