Millions of dollars are sweeping across the province’s small communities to modernize water quality treatment and roads.

François-Phillippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Warren Kaeding, Minister of Government Relations, made the announcement Tuesday.

More than $53.9 million is being contributed jointly by the federal and provincial governments, each providing $26.9 million through the Small Communities Fund (SCF).

The SCF supports infrastructure projects in Canadian communities of under 100,000 residents.

Communities receiving funding around Prince Albert include Birch Hills, Carrot River, Tisdale, Tobin Lake and Big River, all of which were approved for projects to improve water quality.
