Artist Annette Henbid returns to Amy’s on Second for first solo show since 2009

Local artist Annette Henbid held her first major solo exhibition at the Prince Albert restaurant Amy’s on Second seven years ago.

She has exhibited her work at the eatery since then as part of the Studio 1010 and Kyla artist groups, but this month she is returning to the venue on her own with a new collection of work that covers her last 10 years behind the easel. She said the restaurant is well suited for her art.

“I really like warm colours when I’m painting. Sometimes I paint winter scenes but I like a lot of fall scenes and those rich colours look nice on her walls,” Henbid said.

As she normally exhibits with other artists, Henbid said it can be “a little odd” seeing an entire space dedicated to her work alone, but it also gives her a sense of perspective.
