A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to a fatal hit and run from late last year.

The suspect, who was not identified in a media release sent out by the Saskatchewan RCMP, has been arrested and charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily harm or death, public mischief and obstructing a police officer.

The suspect made his first court appearance Friday.

Big River RCMP and EMS responded to a call of a vehicle/pedestrian collision on Big River First Nation at about 10:45 p.m. on December 23.

The vehicle left the scene. An RCMP forensic collision analyst attended the scene to investigate.
