PA’s Kim Brown shoots 156 to take second-consecutive Ladies’ Northern title
It was déjà vu for Kim Brown at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course over the weekend.
The local golfer won her second-straight Ladies’ Northern golf tournament, shooting 73 on Saturday and 83 on Sunday to finish the two-day competition with a first-place score of 156.
“I just love coming back here and to have two back-to-back wins is just an extra bonus,” Brown said.
“Yesterday I had a few struggles, particularly putting, but I came back today and I putted better and I struck the ball a little bit better. I was four under on the front and then down the stretch I had a few little hiccups but overall I was very happy with the performance, particularly today.”
Brown credits her success at Cooke to the fact that she “grew up” on the golf course. She said she’s been golfing there since she was 12-years-old and she has also worked at the facility in the past. She said, “It’s like home.”
