Seven years after reuniting, Grapes of Wrath to make Prince Albert debut

When the Grapes of Wrath decided to call it quits in 1992, drummer Chris Hooper didn’t expect the British Columbian alternative rock group would get back together and resume touring and recording music.

“There was times where I thought, ‘Maybe there’s a chance down the road,’ but I just never thought it would actually happen and we’d do another record. I’d never, ever imagine that,” Hooper said.

“In my head I thought, ‘Maybe one day we’d get tougher and do one show or something.’”

That one show finally happened in 2010, when the band members ­— Hooper, singer and guitarist Kevin Kane and bassist (and brother) Tom Hooper —were approached to perform at the Surrey Fusion Festival in Surrey, B.C. It was the first time the trio shared the stage in 18 years.
