2 facing firearm charges after threatening cab driver

Two suspects appeared in provincial court on Thursday for allegedly threatening and attempting to rob a cab driver.

At about 6:41 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the call.

The driver said he was dropping off two customers at an apartment on Bryant Place when one of them pointed a gun at him and demanded money. He tried to take the gun away, discharging a bullet through the vehicle.

The suspect fled.

Shortly after, officers arrested both passengers in the apartment.

A 20-year-old woman from Prince Albert is facing 14 firearm-related charges and 23-year-old man from Muskoday is facing 16, as well as breach of probation to not be a passenger in a taxi cab and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
