A woman is in critical condition after a single vehicle collision early Thursday morning.

Police, fire and paramedics responded to the corner of Branion Drive and Sixth Avenue East at about 2:52 a.m. where a white sedan struck a light pole and flipped on its side.

According to the police, officers found sedan on its side and the woman pinned underneath the vehicle. The driver doesn’t appear to have been wearing a seatbelt and became pinned under the rolled vehicle. A nearby light pole was knocked over and lying on the ground.

The fire department extracted the woman, who was transported by Parkland Ambulance to the Victoria Hospital, before being airlifted by STARS to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon this morning. She is in critical condition.

The police said neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor. The incident is still under investigation.
