Suspected impaired driver hits pedestrian

A driver has been arrested for impaired driving causing bodily harm after hitting a pedestrian Wednesday evening.

According to a media release, at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16, a pedestrian, who was intoxicated, was crossing the street at the intersection of Sixth Avenue East and 15th Street, near Superstore, when they were struck by a vehicle.

The driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and exceeding a blood alcohol content of 0.08. The driver is due in court on Feb. 26.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital. According to the police, the pedestrian didn’t suffer any significant injuries.
