RCMP say alcohol may have been a factor in the death of a 53-year-old woman from La Ronge in a single-vehicle collision over the long weekend.
The woman was one of three people in the vehicle, which was travelling north on Highway 2 when it left the roadway and rolled down an embankment into a wooded area before coming to rest on its roof.
The male driver and another female passenger were taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP are not releasing the women’s name because the incident is still under investigation. The collision occurred roughly 15 km north of Weyakwin at around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.
