RCMP make 2 arrests and seize drugs, hand gun, and cash while searching La Ronge apartment building

The Saskatchewan RCMP La Ronge Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Police Dog Services seized a loaded hand gun, 60 grams of cocaine, 31 grams of methamphetamine, a sum of cash, and other drug paraphernalia while executing a search warrant at an apartment building in La Ronge on Tuesday.

Officers also arrested two suspects in two different apartments.

John McDonnel, 35, faces 12 charges, including one count of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with release order conditions. McDonnel was on court ordered release conditions for a previous manslaughter charge when arrested on Tuesday.

Denise Charles, 30, faces five charges, including possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with a probation order.

Both suspects will make their first court appearance in La Ronge on Thursday.
