The Prince Albert Raiders trimmed the number of 20-year-olds on their roster by dealing defenceman Easton Kovacs to the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for a conditional fifth round selection in 2028.

The Delta, B.C. product suited up for 66 games with the Raiders last season, scoring four goals and adding five assists. He also registered a goal and an assist in five playoff games.

Kovacs also spent time with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Seattle Thunderbirds before coming to Prince Albert.

Kovacs is the second 20-year-old the Raiders have traded this off-season. They also dealt captain Eric Johnston to the Swift Current Broncos in July.

The Raiders open the pre-season at home against the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday, Sept. 4. They open the regular season at home against the Regina Pats on Friday, Sept. 20.
