Province reports 57 new COVID-19 cases, 171 more recoveries, one death

Health officials reported 57 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, along with 171 more recoveries and one more death.

A patient in their 50s from the Central West Zone died after testing positive for the virus. The province did not release any other details about the case.

Healthcare workers administered 12,528 vaccine doses on Tuesday, including 518 in North Central and a combined 427 in the three far north zones. Roughly 68 per cent of all Saskatchewan adults have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

North Central reported three new cases on Wednesday, along with 21 more recoveries. There are now 87 active cases in the area.


Prince Albert reported two new cases. The other was in North Central Zone 1. There are now 49 active cases in Prince Albert, 29 in Zone 1, and nine in Zone 3.

The Far North East reported four new cases and two more recoveries on Wednesday. There are now 37 active cases in the area.

The Far North West reported one new case and seven more recoveries. There are now 36 active cases in the area.

Far North Central continues to have no active cases.

The North East, which includes Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale, reported two new cases and three recoveries. There are now 33 active cases in the area.

As of Wednesday, Saskatchewan has 938 active cases. The Saskatoon Zone has the highest number with 241, followed by Regina with 152 and the North West with 114.

There are 109 patients in hospital with COVID-19, including 20 in intensive care. Four of those ICU patients are in North Central.
