Prince Albert police investigating two alleged shootings within 24 hours

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) responded to two alleged shootings that occurred within 24 hours, one of which they believe is gang related.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the first incident on the 300 block of 19th Street East.

A news release said one man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The release said several people are in custody in relation to the second alleged shooting.

Just before noon on Tuesday, police located an 18-year-old woman with gunshot wounds in a vehicle on the 700 block of 32nd Street East.

Parkland Ambulance took her to hospital in stable condition.

The release said police believe this incident is gang related and occurred at a roadway on the 1400 block of Marquis Road East.

Officers located a second vehicle, which they believe was involved, on the 1400 block of 28th Street East.

Both vehicles have been recovered and the Forensic Identification Units continue to investigate.
